Garnish Island is a ‘tropical’ oasis in Bantry Bay, a short ten-minute ferry hop from Glengarriff. I had not been there for a few decades! I failed in an attempt to get there in July with members of PhotographyIreland.net (I missed the rendevoux) so I made another attempt on Sunday with Margaret, her husband John and their children Eoin and Muireann.
And the sun shone! The island was really peaceful and the colours and scents of the vegetation were calming on the senses.
Well worth a visit.
